Michael Schwabenbauer Ph. D. ABPP

Biography:
 
Michael Schwabenbauer PhD joined Northshore Psychological Associates in March 1998. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Gannon College (1975,1981) and doctoral training at United States International University in San Diego in 1985. He also completed a predoctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at Hamot Medical Center and a post doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Lake Erie Institute of Rehabilitation (LEIR) in 1986-87.
Dr. Schwabenbauer served as director of the Department of Neuropsychology at LEIR from 1989 until joining Northshore in 1998. Clinical interests include differential diagnosis of dementia, traumatic brain injury and the cognitive and emotional impact of Parkinson disease. Additional clinical focus includes neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation psychology.
 
Dr. Schwabenbauer is licensed to practice psychology in Pennsylvania (1987) and board certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (2006). He is also certified by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and a member of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology , American Psychological Association, Pennsylvania Psychological Association and International Neuropsychological Society.
 
Dr. Schwabenbauer has also served as Clinical Director of the Erie Psychological Consortium since its founding in 2003. The Consortium is a collaboration with Northshore Psychological Associates and Safe Harbor Behavioral Health and offers internship training in Clinical Psychology to qualified applicants. The Erie Psychological Consortium is accredited by the American Psychological Association.
